Argumentative Essay-  Is technology helpful or harmful to society?

Prompt/Directions:
Based on your previous research, what we read in unit 3, and pgs. 290-299 in your textbook write an essay.  Be sure to include personal, local and global perspectives (Cambridge).
Make sure you have already added the following Concept Vocabulary terms to your notebook: suspiciously; obstacle; pessimistic; malicious; insincerity; compromise.
  • Suspiciously (Adverb): In a manner that causes distrust, questioning, or doubt; often associated with acting in a way that suggests guilt or hidden motives.
  • Obstacle (Noun): Something that stands in the way, hinders progress, or blocks a path.
  • Pessimistic (Adjective): Expecting the worst possible outcome; focusing on the negative aspects of a situation.
  • Malicious (Adjective): Having, showing, or acting with bad intentions, malice, or a desire to cause harm or pain to others.
  • Insincerity (Noun): A lack of honesty or genuineness; pretending to feel or believe something that one does not.
  • Compromise (Noun): A settlement of a disagreement or conflict in which each side makes concessions and gives up part of what they wanted to reach a solution. 
​Homework:
-Students must complete 4x I-Ready "My Path" Lessons each week (Due Sunday 3/8/26)
(Note: Students should spend 45-60 minutes on I-Ready "My Path" lessons each week and must get a 70% or higher for completion and may redo the lesson(s) if available (70% = C, 80% = B, 90%+ = A)
